Cupping therapy

Glass cups create a vacuum when placed on the skin and help to relieve pain, move stasis and expel pathogens from the body. This treatment leaves a visible mark on the body like a bruise which will last a few days.

Patients enjoy cupping therapy as a complement to their acupuncture or Tui Na treatment. The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice of Cupping has many therapeutic uses; to expel colds and sore throats, relieve neck, shoulder and back tension and provide pain relief.

Another ancillary therapy used in the clinic is Gua Sha, which uses a small flat tool to scrape the surface of the skin. Similar to cupping therapy this provides pain relief, especially on small areas such as the fingers.
